Geneva Act of WIPO’s Lisbon Agreement Has a New Member: OAPI

On 15 December, 2022, the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI) acceded to the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement.

With OAPI’s accession, the Geneva Act covers all 17 OAPI member states (Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal and Togo).

OAPI is the second intergovernmental organization to join the Lisbon System.

The Geneva Act will enter into force with respect to OAPI on 15 March, 2023.
