The World Intellectual Property Organisation’s Worldwide Symposium on Geographical Indications (GIs) is a biennial event that brings together policymakers, producers of GI goods/products, and experts in the field. The Symposium serves as a key forum for dialogue and knowledge exchange on the protection and promotion of GIs, while also offering practical insights into emerging trends and technical developments.
Date: 1 and 2 May, 2025.
Venue: Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe/Hybrid format.
The 2025 Symposium will be co-hosted by WIPO and the Companies and Intellectual Property Office of Zimbabwe (CIPZ), with valuable support from the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO).
